I am also a big fan of Steve Jenkins' books - I just picked up Time to Eat to share with my class this fall. Have you read Kathryn Otoshi's Zero and One? these are also favourites of mine for the younger grades.Carriehttp://jo-online.vsb.bc.ca/div5/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10378966.post-3449306729518418902011-08-13T14:22:15.955-04:002011-08-13T14:22:15.955-04:00I love your list. I love Patricia Polacco but You are right about her books being advanced. I've actually never heard of Emma Kate. I'll have to check it out. Oh, and Mo Willems, hannds down my fave author.Jackie Higginshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13536816014343140102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10378966.post-29234263931814718802011-08-11T00:42:58.995-04:002011-08-11T00:42:58.995-04:00Thanks for joining us. Added a couple more to my wish list -- White is for Blueberry and South both sound great.
I'm totally with you on Love you Forever. In fact, I use this one in my teaching with student-teachers (many who love this book for various reasons) to speak to the subjectivity involved in defining what makes a 'good book'. This one creeps me out.
Thanks for the list.
Tammy
Apples with Many SeedsTammy Flandershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05544436792429289090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10378966.post-51178044907402462212011-08-10T21:33:25.429-04:002011-08-10T21:33:25.429-04:00I like how you "cheated" to get more tit...I like how you "cheated" to get more titles mentioned. How could we ever live with only ten?

I am going to look up Ish and Dot because I vaguely know about them, but haven't read them yet. I'm going to check them out for possibly reading at the beginning of the year, along with White is for Blueberry. Thanks for the ideas!

DeniseDenise Krebshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00583406241247334445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10378966.post-58462121499120218332011-08-10T12:46:10.857-04:002011-08-10T12:46:10.857-04:00Yay!
