Teaching Heroes on teachinghistory.org
If you teach early elementary grades you probably teach specific famous individuals in your social studies curriculum. Often those people are treated as heroes, or superhuman in some way. It can be a challenge to teach young children about famous people in a meaningful way.

Great resource, Jenny. Speaking of social studies, I've been trying to think of ways to approach Thanksgiving without promoting/teaching the fake history of native americans and pilgrims eating happily together at one table. Swimming against the tide on this one...
